By Juliet Jacobs with Shad Saleem Faruqi & Firdaus Husni
29 March 2019

Law & Behold is a new series aimed at improving constitutional literacy among Malaysians, done in collaboration with The Malaysian Bar and the University of Malaya’s Faculty of Law. In our second episode of the series, Emeritus Professor Datuk Dr. Shad Saleem Faruqi and lawyer Firdaus Husni walk us through Article 5 of the Constitution, which provides for the right to life and personal liberty. We discuss what is meant by fundamental rights, and why the right to life and personal liberty cannot be deprived Malaysians, unless it is in accordance with law.
