Sisters in Islam (SIS) is excited to announce the 6th session of our SIS Reading Series. We invite you to join the 2024 edition, themed “The Emancipative Commitment: Readings on Woman Discourse”.

This session will delve into the literary contributions of Adibah Amin and Anis Sabirin, two influential figures in the discourse on women’s presence and empowerment.

Adibah Amin: Renowned for her insightful commentaries on social issues, particularly those related to Malaysian society, culture, and women’s rights.

Anis Sabirin: A pioneer of feminism in Malaysian literature, Anis critiqued restrictive societal norms and challenged stereotypical portrayals of women through her essays, short stories, poems, and memoirs during the 1960s.
