Strategic litigation

The MCCHR strategic litigation programme aims to advance human rights changes within wider Malaysian society through the judicial system. We focus on five key areas: freedom of expression and peaceful assembly; access to justice and the right to a fair trial; gender equality and non-discrimination; freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; and the protection of human rights defenders. Through the programme, MCCHR organises training for practitioners and students, produces research reports and practice manuals, and supports public interest cases.
